and the most common subtypes like CD121a, CD121b and CD121+

CD8a - Cluster of differentiation 121a

CD121a Gene ID 16177
CD121a Official Full Name interleukin 1 receptor, type I
CD121a Alias IL-1R type I, IL1R1, IL1R1, IL-1 RI
CD121a Cellular Expression T; Dendritic; Endothelial; Epithelial; Granulocyte; Macrophage; monocytes
CD121a Ligand/Receptor/Association IL-1, IL-1, IL-1RA
CD121a Function Receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. Mediates IL1 signaling
CD121a Summary Interleukin 1 receptor, type I (IL1R1) also known as CD121a (Cluster of Differentiation 121a), is an interleukin receptor. IL1R1 also denotes its human gene.[1] The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. This protein is a receptor for interleukin 1 alpha (IL1A), interleukin 1 beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL1RA). It is an important mediator involved in many cytokine induced immune and inflammatory responses. This gene along with interleukin 1 receptor, type II (IL1R2), interleukin 1 receptor-like 2 (IL1RL2), and interleukin 1 receptor-like 1 (IL1RL1) form a cytokine receptor gene cluster in a region mapped to chromosome 2q12.[1]

CD121b - Cluster of differentiation 121b

CD121b Gene ID 7850
CD121b Official Full Name interleukin 1 receptor type 2
CD121b Alias IL-1R, type II, IL1R2, IL-1R2
CD121b Cellular Expression T; B; Macrophage; monocytes
CD121b Ligand/Receptor/Association IL-1, IL-1, IL-1RA
CD121b Function Receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. Mediates IL1 signaling
CD121b Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This protein binds interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I(IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. Interleukin 4 (IL4) is reported to antagonize the activity of interleukin 1 by inducing the expression and release of this cytokine. This gene and three other genes form a cytokine receptor gene cluster on chromosome 2q12. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. Alternative splicing produces both membrane-bound and soluble proteins. A soluble protein is also produced by proteolytic cleavage. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
