CD218a Gene ID | 8809 |
---|---|
CD218a Official Full Name | interleukin 18 receptor 1 |
CD218a Alias | IL-18Rα, IL-1Rrp, IL18R1 |
CD218a Cellular Expression | T; B; NK; Dendritic; Endothelial; Granulocyte; Macrophage; monocytes |
CD218a Ligand/Receptor/Association | IL-18 |
CD218a Function | Forms part of the receptor complex for IL18 |
CD218a Summary | The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This receptor specifically binds interleukin 18 (IL18), and is essential for IL18 mediated signal transduction. IFN-alpha and IL12 are reported to induce the expression of this receptor in NK and T cells. This gene along with four other members of the interleukin 1 receptor family, including IL1R2, IL1R1, ILRL2 (IL-1Rrp2), and IL1RL1 (T1/ST2), form a gene cluster on chromosome 2q. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013] |

CD218b Official Full Name | interleukin 18 receptor accessory protein |
CD218b Alias | IL-18Rβ, IL18RAP |
CD218b Cellular Expression | T; B; NK; Dendritic; Endothelial; Macrophage; monocytes |
CD218b Ligand/Receptor/Association | |
CD218b Function | Forms part of the receptor complex for IL18 |
CD218b Summary | The protein encoded by this gene is an accessory subunit of the heterodimeric receptor for interleukin 18 (IL18), a proinflammatory cytokine involved in inducing cell-mediated immunity. This protein enhances the IL18-binding activity of the IL18 receptor and plays a role in signaling by IL18. Mutations in this gene are associated with Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel disease, and susceptibility to celiac disease and leprosy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014] |
