The Bioaim Mouse MIP-3 alpha ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of MIP-3 alpha in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for mouse MIP-3 alpha was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any MIP-3 alpha present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse MIP-3 alpha antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of MIP-3 alpha present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.

It is strongly chemotactic for lymphocytes and weakly attracts neutrophilsCCL20 is implicated in the formation and function of mucosal lymphoid tissues via chemoattraction of lymphocytes and dendritic cells towards the epithelial cells surrounding these tissues. CCL20 elicits its effects on its target cells by binding and activating the chemokine receptor CCR6. CCL20 expression was observed to be dependent on IL-6 amplifier activation, which is dependent on NF-κB and STAT3 activation.
