The Bioaim Human TREM-1 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TREM-1 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human TREM-1 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TREM-1 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human TREM-1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TREM-1 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Inflammation; Embryogenesis;
triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1(TREM-1) Background: The TREM family of receptors regulates the activity of various cell types of the immune system including neutrophils, monocyte/macrophages, microglia, and dendritic cells. The receptors are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily, characterized structurally by a single V-set immunoglobulin (Ig) domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. TREMs associate with the DAP12 signal adapter, an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif-(ITAM)-containing protein that is phosphorylated and transduces signals when activated. Monocyte/macrophage- and neutrophil-mediated inflammatory responses can be stimulated through a variety of receptors, including G protein-linked 7-transmembrane receptors, Fc receptors, CD14 and Toll-like receptors, and cytokine receptors. Engagement of these receptors can also prime myeloid cells to respond to other stimuli.
