The Bioaim Human PGRPs ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of PGRPs in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human PGRPs was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any PGRPs present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human PGRPs antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of PGRPs present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area viral infection;

peptidoglycan recognition protein 1(PGRPs) Background: PGLYRP1/PGRP-S is a secreted peptidoglycan recognition protein that is expressed by neutrophils, eosinophils, and a variety of tissues including the gastrointestinal system, salivary glands, and mammary glands. PGRPs contain at least one C-terminal peptidoglycan recognition domain, which is about 165 amino acids long. This peptidoglycan-binding type 2 amidase domain is homologous to bacteriophage and bacterial type 2 amidases. It binds to TREM-1 and HSP70 and mediates host defense against Gram-positive bacteria. PGLYRP1 protects against experimental colitis and experimental peptidoglycan-induced arthritis, although it can promote inflammation in dermatitis and house dust mite-induced airway allergy.
