The Bioaim Human Adipsin ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of Adipsin in human serum and plasma. An antibody specific for human Adipsin was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any Adipsin present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human Adipsin antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of Adipsin present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area metabolic regulation;
complement factor D (adipsin)(Adipsin ) Background: Complement Factor D, also known as adipsin, is a serine protease that catalyzes the initial proteolytic step in the alternative pathway of complement. It is an exceptionally specific protease and the only known protein substrate is factor B in complex with C3.3 Factor D protease activity is regulated by reversible conformational changes, which differs from the majority of serine proteases whose regulation involves either activation by processing of the zymogens or inactivation by binding of the inhibitors.
