Microplate Readers enable the easy and flexible measurement of the fluorescence, luminescence and absorption of numerous samples. Using specific filters, mirrors, cables made of fiberglass and photomultiplier tubes modern microplate readers are capable of dividing (e.g. in different wavelengths to excite a fluorophore), directing, detecting and ultimately translating light from a xenon lamp into an electrical signal.
