CD16

and the most common subtypes like CD16a, CD16b and CD16+

CD16a - Cluster of differentiation 16a

CD16a Gene ID 14131
CD16a Official Full Name Fc receptor, IgG, low affinity III
CD16a Alias FcγRIIIA, FCGR3A, FCG3, FCGR3, IGFR3
CD16a Cellular Expression T; NK; Dendritic; Granulocyte; Macrophage
CD16a Ligand/Receptor/Association aggregated IgG, IgG-Ag complex
CD16a Function Low affinity Fc receptor. Mediates phagocytosis and antibody-dependent T-cell-mediated cytotoxicity
CD16a Summary CD16 is a low affinity Fc receptor. It is a cluster of differentiation molecule found on the surface of natural killer cells, neutrophil polymorphonuclear leukocytes, monocytes and macrophages.[1] It can be used to isolate populations of these cells by antibodies directed towards CD16, using fluorescent-activated cell sorting or magnetic-activated cell sorting

CD16b - Cluster of differentiation 16b

CD16b Gene ID 2215
CD16b Official Full Name Fc fragment of IgG receptor IIIb
CD16b Alias FcγRIIIB, FCGR3B, FCG3, FCGR3, IGFR3
CD16b Cellular Expression Granulocyte
CD16b Ligand/Receptor/Association IgG
CD16b Function Low affinity Fc receptor
CD16b Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a low affinity receptor for the Fc region of gamma immunoglobulins (IgG). The encoded protein acts as a monomer and can bind either monomeric or aggregated IgG. This gene may function to capture immune complexes in the peripheral circulation. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. A highly-similar gene encoding a related protein is also found on chromosome 1.
