The Bioaim Mouse TIM-1 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TIM-1 in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for mouse TIM-1 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TIM-1 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse TIM-1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TIM-1 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Kidney biomarker; Cardiovascular disease;
hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1( TIM-1 ) Background: TIM-1 (T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1), also known as KIM-1 and HAVcr1, is expressed on many immune cell types and epithelial cells. It binds to phosphatidylserine (PS), LMIR5/CD300b, TIM-1 (homophilic), TIM-4, IgA, and the glycoproteins of a number of enveloped viruses. Its interaction with PS enables TIM-1 to mediate the phagocytosis and clearance of apoptotic cells. TIM-1 signaling costimulates T cell activation and enhances Th2 cytokine production. TIM-1 is preferentially expressed on Th2 cells and has been identified as a stimulatory molecule for T-cell activation. TIM-1 serves as a cellular entry receptor for hepatitis A virus, Ebolavirus and Marburgvirus. Polymorphisms are associated with susceptibility to atopy, autoimmunity, and severe hepatitis A virus infection in humans. A soluble form of TIM-1 is elevated in the urine during nephropathy.
