The Bioaim Mouse MDC ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of MDC in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for mouse MDC was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any MDC present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse MDC antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of MDC present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Inflammation;
chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 22 (MDC) Background: Macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC), also named stimulated T cell chemotactic protein (STCP-1) and ABCD-1, and now designated as CCL22, is a CC chemokine initially isolated from clones of monocyte-derived macrophages. At the amino acid sequence level, MDC shows less than 35% identity to other CC chemokine family members. Human MDC is expressed in dendritic cells, macrophages and activated monocytes. In addition, MDC expression is detected in thymus, lymph node and appendix tissues. The gene for CCL22 is located in human chromosome 16 in a cluster with other chemokines called CX3CL1 and CCL17.
