The Bioaim Mouse CD30 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of CD30 in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for mouse CD30 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any CD30 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse CD30 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of CD30 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Apoptosis;

tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member 8(CD30) Background: CD30, also known as TNFRSF8, is a cell membrane protein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family and tumor marker. This receptor is expressed by activated, but not by resting, T and B cells. TRAF2 and TRAF5 can interact with this receptor, and mediate the signal transduction that leads to the activation of NF-kappaB. It is a positive regulator of apoptosis, and also has been shown to limit the proliferative potential of autoreactive CD8 effector T cells and protect the body against autoimmunity. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. CD30 is associated with anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
