The Bioaim Mouse Beta IG-H3 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of Beta IG-H3 in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for mouse Beta IG-H3 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any beta-IGH3 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-mouse Beta IG-H3 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of Beta IG-H3 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis;
transforming growth factor beta induced(BIGH3) Background: Beta IG-H3, also known as TGFBI and RGD-CAP, is a matricellular adaptor protein that is induced in most cell types in response to TGF-beta stimulation .Transforming growth factor, beta-induced, 68kDa, also known as TGFBI (initially called BIGH3, BIG-H3), is a proteinwhich in humans is encoded by the TGFBI gene, locus 5q31. This gene encodes an RGD-containing protein that binds to type I, II and IV collagens. The RGD motif is found in manyextracellular matrix proteins modulating cell adhesion and serves as a ligand recognition sequence for several integrins. This protein plays a role in cell-collagen interactions and may be involved in endochondrial bone formation in cartilage. The protein is induced by transforming growth factor-beta and acts to inhibit cell adhesion. Mutations of the gene cause several forms of corneal dystrophies.
