The Bioaim Human uPAR ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of uPAR in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human uPAR was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any uPAR present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human uPAR antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of uPAR present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis; Cancer Biomarker; Coagulation;
plasminogen activator, urokinase receptor(uPAR) Background: The urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) is one of two activators that converts plasminogen to plasmin. uPA binds with high-affinity to the cell surface via the GPI-linked receptor uPAR, which serves to localize uPA proteolytic activity. uPAR has been involved in various other non-proteolytical processes related to cancer, such as cell migration, cell cycle regulation, and cell adhesion. When uPA is bound to the receptor, there is cleavage between the GPI-anchor and the uPAR, releasing suPAR.
