The Bioaim Human TROY ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TROY in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human TROY was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TROY present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human TROY antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TROY present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Inflammation; Osteoclast differentiation;
TNF receptor superfamily member 19(TROY) Background: TROY, also named Toxicity and JNK inducer (TAJ) and TNFRSF19, is a member of the TNF receptor superfamily. Mouse TROY shares 92% amino acid sequence identity with human TROY in the extracellular domains. The two proteins also have 57% amino acid identity in their cytoplasmic tails. It has been shown to interact with TRAF family members, and to activate JNK signaling pathway when overexpressed in cells. This receptor is capable of inducing apoptosis by a caspase-independent mechanism, and it is thought to play an essential role in embryonic development. Alternatively, spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
