The Bioaim Human TRAIL R3 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TRAIL R3 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human TRAIL R3 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TRAIL R3 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human TRAIL R3 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TRAIL R3 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Apoptosis;
TNF receptor superfamily member 10c(TRAIL R3) Background: TRAIL binds at least five different receptors: TRAIL R1 (DR4), R2 (DR5), R3 (DcR1), R4 (DcR2), and osteoprotegerin (OPG). TRAIL receptors all exhibit cysteine-rich repeats characteristic of the TNF receptor superfamily. TRAIL R1 and R2 are type 1 transmembrane proteins with intracellular death domains (DD) and, subsequently, have the ability to mediate TRAIL-induced apoptosis. The remaining receptors are decoys that may regulate TRAIL activity by competing for binding sites with TRAIL R1 and R2. TRAIL R3 is membrane-associated via GPI linkage.
