The Bioaim Human TIM-4 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TIM-4 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human TIM-4 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TIM-4 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human TIM-4 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TIM-4 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis; Cancer Biomarker;
TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 4 (TIMP-4) Background: TIMPs-1 through -4 regulate the activity of zinc metalloproteases known as MMPs, ADAMs and ADAMTSs. Structurally, TIMPs contain two domains. The N-terminal domain binds to the active site of mature metalloproteases via a 1:1 non-covalent interaction, blocking access of substrates to the catalytic site. In addition, The C-terminal domain of TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 binds to the hemopexin- like domain of pro-MMP-9 and pro-MMP-2, respectively. TIMP4 has been shown to interact with MMP2.
