The Bioaim Human TGF beta2 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of TGF beta2 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human TGF beta2 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any TGF beta2 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human TGF beta2 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of TGF beta2 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Cancer Biomarker;

transforming growth factor beta 2(TGF β 2) Background: Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-⓶) is a secreted protein known as a cytokine that performs many cellular functions and has a vital role during embryonic development. TGF-beta molecules are proposed to act as cellular switches that regulate processes such as immune function, proliferation, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Targeted deletions of these genes in mice show that each TGF-beta isoform has some non-redundant functions: TGF-beta 1 is involved in hematopoiesis and endothelial differentiation; TGF-beta 2 affects development of cardiac, lung, craniofacial, limb, eye, ear, and urogenital systems; and TGF-beta 3 influences palatogenesis and pulmonary development members.
