The Bioaim Human NGF R ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of NGF R in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human NGF R was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any NGF R present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human NGF R antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of NGF R present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Cancer Biomarker; Cancer stem cell biomarker;

Low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor(NGF R) Background: The low affinity nerve growth factor receptor (NGF R), is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor family1 and has been designated TNFRSF16. The NGF receptor is also known as p75 NTR (neurotrophin receptor) because of its ability to bind at low affinity not only to NGF, but also other neurotrophins including brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin-3 and neurotrophin-4/5. NGF R also binds several myelin derived proteins as a co-receptor with Nogo receptor. The NGF receptor is a 75 kDa protein that is expressed in neuronal axons, Schwanns cells and perineural cells of peripheral nerves.
