The Bioaim Human MIG ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of MIG in human serum and plasma. An antibody specific for human MIG was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any MIG present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human MIG antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of MIG present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis; Cancer Biomarker; inflammation;

C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 9 ( MIG ) Background: MIG, a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines that lack the ELR domain, was initially identified as a lymphokine-activated gene in mouse macrophages. MIG is a chemoattractant for activated T cells and TIL, but not for neutrophils or monocytes. CXCL9 is a T-cell chemoattractant, which is induced by IFN-β. It is closely related to two other CXC chemokines called CXCL10 and CXCL11, whose genes are located near the gene for CXCL9 on human chromosome 4. Neutrophil collagenase/matrix metalloproteinase 8 (MMP-8) degrades CXCL9 and cleaves CXCL10 at two positions. Gelatinase B/MMP-9 degrades CXCL10 and cleaves CXCL9 at three different sites in its extended carboxy-terminal region.
