The Bioaim Human MCP-3 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of MCP-3 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human MCP-3 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any MCP-3 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human MCP-3 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of MCP-3 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis; inflammation;
C-C motif chemokine ligand 7 (MCP-3) Background: Human MCP-3 and mouse MARC are members of the CC subfamily of chemokines and are monocyte chemoattractants. Sequence comparisons suggest that MARC may be the mouse homolog of the human MCP-3 gene. Except for one amino acid subsititution, mouse MARC is identical to mouse FIC, the product of a growth factor-activated gene. CCL7 specifically attracts monocytes, and regulates macrophage function citation needed]. It is produced by certain tumor cell lines and by macrophages. This chemokine is located on chromosome 17 in humans, in a large cluster containing many other CC chemokines and is most closely related to CCL2.
