The Bioaim Human IL-17 R ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of IL-17 R in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human IL-17 R was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any IL-17 R present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human IL-17 R antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of IL-17 R present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Inflammation;
interleukin 17 receptor A (IL-17 R) Background: IL-17 binds to IL-17 receptors (IL-17 R), which share no homology with any known family of receptors. While the expression of IL-17 is restricted to activated T cells, IL-17 R mRNA exhibits a broad tissue distribution, and has been detected in virtually all cells and tissues tested. The amino acid sequence of human IL-17 R is 69% identical to mouse IL-17 R. IL-17A neutralizing antibodies have the potential for the treatment of autoimmune diseases in humans. It also may soon be used for protection against periodontal bone loss as it is currently being tested in mice. IL-17 RA has been observed at high levels in people undergoing treatment for cardiac fibroblasts and in certain tissues such as: haematopoietic, bone marrow, thymus, and spleen tissue. IL-17 RA is also normally found in low levels in colon, small intestine, and lung tissues.
