The Bioaim Human IL-1 sRI ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of IL-1 sRI in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human IL-1 sRI was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any IL-1 sRI present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human IL-1 sRI antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of IL-1 sRI present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Inflammation;

Interleukin-1 receptor type 1(IL-1 sRI) Background: IL-1 RI, also known as the type 1 IL-1 receptor and CD121a, is a transmembrane protein in the Toll/IL-1 R (TIR) superfamily. IL-1 RI binds the pleiotropic cytokines IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta, plus the IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1 Ra). Signal transduction requires complex formation with IL-1 R AcP/IL-1 R3. This complex recruits the adaptor protein MyD88, to initiate signaling in the NF kappa B pathway. IL-1 RI is expressed predominantly by T cells, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells and mediates acute phase inflammatory responses including fever. Interleukin 1 receptor, type I has been shown to interact with PIK3R1, Myd88 and IL1RAP.
