The Bioaim Human FGF7 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of FGF7 in human serum and plasma. An antibody specific for human FGF7 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any FGF7 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-human FGF7 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of FGF7 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Angiogenesis; cell growth;
fibroblast growth factor 7( FGF-7 ) Background: KGF (keratinocyte growth factor), also known as FGF-7, encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. It functions as a paracrine factor during wound healing by inducing the proliferation of nearby epithelial cells. KGF plays a role in kidney morphogenesis, hair follicle development, and keratinocyte differentiation. It signals only through the IIIb splice form of the tyrosine kinase receptor, FGF R2 (IIIb)/KGF R.
