The Bioaim Human C1q R1 ELISA kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) for the quantitative measurement of C1q R1 in Human serum, plasma and cell culture media. An antibody specific for Human C1q R1 was coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any C1q R1 present binds to the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human C1q R1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is added to the wells. The wells are again washed and TMB substrate solution is added, which produces a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of C1q R1 present in the initial sample. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the microwell absorbances are read at 450 nm.Research Area Immune response;
CD93 molecule(C1q R1) Background: C1q R1 is also known as C1q Rp, collectin receptor, and AA4 antigen. C1q R1 mediates enhanced phagocytosis by monocytes and macrophages upon interaction with soluble defense collagens including C1q, MBL, and SP-A. It is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells, hematopoietic progenitor cells, platelets, and cells of myeloid origin. CD93 was initially thought to be a receptor for C1q, but now is thought to instead be involved in intercellular adhesion and in the clearance of apoptotic cells. The intracellular cytoplasmic tail of this protein contains two highly conserved domains which may be involved in CD93 function.
